Filipino VoiceMaster, Pocholo Gonzales Conquers Disneyland!
Veteran voice – artist and owner of Creativoices Productions, Pocholo Gonzales makes the country proud for being the only Filipino voiceover artist invited at the VoiceOver International Creative Experience (VOICE) 2012 in the happiest place on earth, Disneyland California, U.S.A!
June 17, 2012 - The Filipino VoiceMaster, Mr. Pocholo Gonzales, became the sole representative of the Philippines in the VoiceOver International Creative Experience 2012 held in Disneyland Hotel and Resort in Anaheim, California from June 12-16.
As the only Asian voiceover artist among the roster of seasoned voice actors as well as newcomers from all over the world, Pocholo was able to share his experiences as a voice director and actor in the Philippine setting.
He also shared his passion as a voice coach for aspiring talents in his very own school through VoiceWorx, the only voice-acting workshop in the Philippines which is now on its 20th batch of students.
In an interview with Voices.com, the premiere sponsor of the event, Pocholo compared the Automated Dialogue Replacement or Additional Dialogue Recording (ADR) Dubbing in the USA and the Philippines.
"I've learned that ADR Dubbing in the USA is so different from how we do it in the Philippines. We can do it faster. We can finish 5 episodes a day. We don't have beeps and we don't do it per loop, we do it per scene. However, I think dubbing is almost the same across different countries in terms of content. Only the language changes because we only see the same picture," Pocholo said.
Disneyland served as the perfect venue for the largest gathering of voiceover artists and actors, for it is not only the happiest place on earth, but the voiciest as well as it is home to many of the most popular animation ever produced for the big and small screens.
Industry insiders from California, New York, and from all over the world took part in presentations and seminars on a vast range of topics in the entire event with the Philippines not being left behind through the VoiceMaster, Pocholo Gonzales.

VoiceWorx 19 learns form their final recording
Just because it is fun doesn't mean it cannot be serious. Sure, VoiceWorx 19 students had fun but they were also able to feel nervousness as they faced their final recording for their voice acting workshop, February 25.
Led by Mr. Brian Ligsay, they refreshed the things they learned first. More tips were also given to them so that they would be more prepared not just for the day's challenges but also for the things they would try and pursue as they finish the training.
Afterwards, they began the final recording wherein they were asked to record the scripts they recorded during the very first meeting. Through this final recording, their improvements since the very first meeting were more obvious.
And to be more prepared, Mr. Ligsay also gave his comments and criticisms on their performances so they would know their strengths as well as the points that they still have to work on.
